Dress Code
Daytime: Daytime dress on a Costa cruise is
casual, such as light, cotton clothing or swimwear with cover-up. Tennis shoes
or low heeled walking shoes are recommended for exploring ports of call. While
most shore excursions do not have dress codes, some tours specifically prohibit
shorts and sleeveless shirts and require ladies to wear knee-length skirts or
slacks. Additionally, for those guests traveling to Northern Europe, sweaters,
lightweight jackets, raincoats and hats are also recommended.
Evening: Your Costa Cruise will feature 2 formal nights on 7- night cruises
where men may choose from tuxedos or dark suits and ladies wear evening or
cocktail dresses. The number of formal nights may vary depending on cruise
length and itinerary.
In the Caribbean, two nights will be informal evenings where men are requested
to wear sports coats while ladies wear resort attire. On the remaining three
casual nights, ladies wear casual resort attire while men may dress more
comfortably in dress shirts and slacks with or without sports coats. (One of
these casual nights is a Roman Bacchanal to which you may wish to wear a custom
toga or accessorize your bed sheet/toga). Resort attire is the norm on the other
evenings.
Age Restrictions
On Board Baby-Sitting
Caribbean: Costa offers group
baby-sitting for children age 3 (out of diapers) and older. The babysitting
schedules can be found in the Daily Program distributed onboard (private
in-stateroom babysitting is not available). There will also be two 'Parents
Night Out' during the cruise where parents have the opportunity to enjoy the
evening worry free while their children will be entertained with special
activities, including their own buffet or pizza party. Best of all these special
nights are offered at no extra charge.
Costa's In Port Children's Program
Caribbean: Costa's In Port program offers
children a variety of activities onboard to entertain them. Parents will receive
information pertaining to scheduled activities at the beginning of the cruise.
Ask about specially priced shore excursions for children 12 years and under.
Europe: Costa offers a comprehensive children's program throughout our
Europe cruise season. The months of July and August are the most popular
traveling times for families with children. Activities vary by ship and
itinerary.
Minors Policy
Guests under the age of 21 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. On
selected seasonal departures, guests 21 to 24 years old must have one person at
least 25 years old in the same stateroom.
Medical Care
There is a physician and nurse available
24 hours a day while at sea and during scheduled hours of the day while in port.
All Costa ships are equipped with an infirmary. Professional services, care and
medications are available at a reasonable cost. The medical staff can also
provide medication to relieve any symptoms of seasickness. If you require
prescription medications, bring an ample supply. Some prescription medications,
might not be available onboard or ashore.
Tipping
Tipping is a personal matter, and your own judgment is the best guide. For your convenience, Costa will automatically debit your onboard account a modest service charge per person per day. Should you wish to change the amount, contact the Guest Relations Desk. Bartenders, servers, deck stewards and other staff may be tipped as service is received. For your convenience, a 15% gratuity is added to beverage purchases automatically.

DINING
Comfortable, but with a more limited choice, this continental style breakfast

stateroom door - or when you wake up, just make a phone call. Those of you who
get up early can take advantage of the peace and quiet. Start your day with
coffee and pastries for early risers, served from 6:00 AM-6:30 AM usually in the
buffet area.
For breakfast in the utmost comfort there's the
full breakfast in the traditional Restaurant, slightly more formal even with
open sitting (i.e. you can sit where you like, not necessarily at your reserved
table). You can order a variety of hot specialties from the menu including
omelets, grilled sausages, plus fruit, cereal and much more.....
Although while on a vacation like this, you may
want to forget to watch your diet, the menus on board do offer some alternative
selections Special menus While afternoon tea is being served you could also try
a slice of pizza. The selection varies day by day and includes a classic cheese,
four seasons, mushroom, ham or gorgonzola. Each slice is served hot from the
oven and is a perfect afternoon snack or light lunch. Traditional dinner is
served in the main restaurant usually in two sittings. The Chefs prepare dishes
to suit the tastes of Guests of different nationalities.
Everyone chooses what appeals to them most. There
is also the tradition of gala evenings which always represent a moment of great
emotion for the Guests and chefs alike. Some of the most Favorite menus For
those late night hunger cravings, Costa offers tasty, mouth-watering
appointments: the Buffet in the Galley, the tropical buffet under the stars and
the Magnifico Buffet. On other evenings you'll find specialty sweets and treats
throughout the ship.
