Built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy, the flagship ms Amsterdam sets the standard for their fleet of five-star cruise ships. At the heart of the ms Amsterdam is the Planeto Astrolabium, a specially commissioned signature sculpture suspended and soaring in a three-story atrium. Dutch heritage and tradition aboard the ms Amsterdam is clearly displayed in original Art Deco pieces that once graced the Nieuw Amsterdam.
The new Eurodam marks Holland America Line's next class of vessels and at 2,104 passengers the largest ever constructed for the premium line. With 11 passenger decks, new innovations include a topside 144-seat Pan-Asian restaurant and 50-seat lounge surrounded by panoramic views and the Lido pool. Other additions are an Explorer's Lounge Bar, and a new restaurant offering the finest in Italian food on the sea.
Her name sets the tone. Its roots, like the ship itself, are a mix of something contemporary and something classic: “Koning,” means king in Dutch - and is a salute to King Willem-Alexander, the Netherland’s first king in more than 100 years. And “dam,” because, after all … this is a Holland America Line ship, and the "dam" naming convention dates back to 1883.
Featuring an interior motif that pays homage to the historical Dutch East and West India companies of the 17th through 19th centuries, the centerpiece of this elegant ship features Luciano Vistosi's 'Totem,' a monumental sculpture using nearly 2,000 glimmering pieces of glass, displayed in a soaring three-story atrium. At 720-feet, the ms Maasdam is designed to carry fewer guests while providing them with more space for maximum comfort.
Nieuw Amsterdam, joins the recently launched Eurodam to further define and expand the Holland America Line premium brand with new concepts such as the innovative pan-Asian Tamarind restaurant and Silk Den lounge surrounded by panoramic views overlooking the ocean expanse and the Lido pool. Other additions are an Explorer's Lounge Bar, a premium wine-tasting lounge, and a new photographic and imaging center.
The ms Noordam was named for the northern compass point and exemplifies the classic style of ocean travel with contemporary amenities and modern enhancements. With a Dutch worldwide exploration theme, the decor of the ms Ryndam features art and artifacts from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. Guests aboard this spacious ship encounter elegance at every turn - from a string quartet serenade in the splendid Rotterdam Dining Room to the two-deck Vermeer Show Lounge. At the heart of the ms Ryndam a three-story atrium features a monumental fountain created by sculptor Gilbert Lebigre Italy.
The ms Statendam features a theme of Dutch life and exploration. The Van Gogh Theater is a work of art in itself. Themed to artist Vincent Van Gogh's paintings 'The Starry Night' and 'Irises,' the room features fiber optic lighting as well as a state-of-the-art sound system. In the center of the ship, a soaring three-story atrium showcases an elaborate 26-foot-high 'Fountain of the Siren' sculpture, which extends to the Upper Promenade.

Everything from pre-Columbian fetishes and sculptures to Renaissance-era fountains.
Defining the future of cruising, the ms Westerdam offers guests more of everything they desire on a cruise ship: more staterooms with private verandahs, more dining choices from formal dinners to casual poolside dining, more exotic destinations, and the very best in cruise activities. The theme of the Westerdam's art collection is Dutch heritage in the New World. Artwork includes paintings Dutch ships, such as Henry Hudson's Half Moon.
The musically themed ms Zaandam offers its 1,440 guests a unique shipboard atmosphere. Inspired by the world's great music, artifacts and memorabilia from across the pantheon of musical genres decorate the ship, such as guitars signed by the Rolling Stones and other relics of legendary musicians. The ms Zaandam features spacious public rooms as well as spacious and tastefully decorated staterooms.
At the heart of the ms Zuiderdam, suspended in a three-story atrium, a Waterford Crystal Seahorse sets the mood for exquisite pieces of art to be seen throughout this elegant ship. On board the ms Zuiderdam, marvelous nooks and crannies contain priceless works of art. Guests will find a recurring Venetian theme throughout the ship; the most dazzling features figures in the time of Carnival in Venice, created by Daniel Ogier.
