If reservation is not
cancelled 24 hours in advance, a $5.00 cancellation fee per person will apply.
Dress Code in Dining
Rooms
Freestyle Cruising gives the guests the freedom to dress as they please. Resort
casual attire is always appropriate morning, noon and night. However, NCL/ NCLA
does not allow any blue jeans, t-shirts, shorts, cut-offs, tank tops, bare feet,
etc. in any of the fine dining restaurants for dinner, including all main
restaurants, alternative restaurants, and cover charge venues.
Guests are allowed to wear blue jeans, shorts and t-shirts, in the evenings at
the buffets, outdoor barbeques, and 24-hour venues, such as the Blue Lagoon, the
Cadillac diner, etc.
Below are a few exceptions to the dining room dress code:
- Blue Jeans will be allowed in all dining rooms on all Houston departures, due to the Texas culture.
- Bermuda shorts with knee high socks, or Scottish kilts with knee highs will also be allowed in all dining rooms in Bermuda as these are considered formal dress in Bermuda.
- Hawaiian shirts are allowed with proper slacks in all dining rooms.
- Ladies Capri Pants, which are a length between the knee and ankles, are acceptable in all fine dining rooms as long as they are not blue jean capris.
Additional Information:
Special meals are
available including low-calorie, vegetarian, no MSG, low/no sodium and low/no
cholesterol meals, as well as sugar-free and fat-free desserts. All of the
restaurants are non-smoking. Most specialty restaurants require a per person
cover charge or offer a' la carte pricing. Reservations are recommended and can
be made on board.
Age Restrictions
Company policy dictates that a passenger under 21 years of age
must be accompanied in the same or connecting stateroom by a
passenger 21 years or older who expressly agrees to be
responsible for the under 21 passenger throughout the cruise.
This includes, but is not limited to, preventing under-age
purchase or consumption of alcohol**, preventing under-age
gaming activities and preventing violations of any ship's rules.
Passengers must be age 21 to purchase or consume alcohol and age
18 to gamble on the ship. If the accompanying adult is not the
minor's parent or legal guardian, a PARENTAL/ GUARDIAN CONSENT
LETTER that authorizes the minor's travel and further authorizes
medical treatment in case of an emergency must be delivered to
an NCL representative at the pier. Failure to produce this
letter at embarkation may result in boarding being denied, with
no refund of cruise fare provided.
Please note that infants under six months of age are not eligible to travel on NCL ships.
Note: Two people under the age of 21 may travel together in the same stateroom without someone over the age of 21 in the same stateroom if they purchased the cruise under the family plan and have at least one person who is 21 years or older in the adjoining stateroom. The age limit will be waived for married couples less than 21 years of age provided proof of marriage is presented to an NCL representative at the pier.
**With the exception of Alaska and Hawaii itineraries,
NCL permits guests between the ages of eighteen (18) and twenty
(20) to purchase and personally consume wine and beer while on
NCL ships with the consent of an accompanying parent or legal
guardian (Parental Consent) on the same sailing when the vessel
is outside the US state territorial waters (3 miles). Complete

Tipping
Guests should not feel obliged to offer a gratuity for good
service. However, all of NCL's staff are encouraged to 'go the
extra mile,' and so they are permitted to accept cash gratuities
entirely at the discretion of NCL guests who wish to acknowledge
particular staff members for exceptional or outstanding service.
In other words, there is genuinely no need to tip but you should
feel free to do so if you have a desire to acknowledge
particular individuals.
Also, certain staff positions provide service on an individual basis to only some guests. We encourage those guests to acknowledge good service from these staff members with appropriate gratuities. For example, for guests purchasing bar drinks the recommended gratuity is 15 percent. For guests purchasing spa treatments the recommended gratuity is 18 percent. Similarly, for guests using concierge and butler services, NCL recommends they consider offering a gratuity commensurate with services rendered.
The reason there's a fixed service charge is an important one: Our Crew (as are the crew from other lines) is encouraged to work together as a team. Staff members including restaurant staff, stateroom stewards and behind-the-scenes support staff are compensated by a combination of salary and incentive programs that your service charge supports.
Onboard Service Charges are additional. A charge of $12 per person per day will automatically be added to your onboard account.
