Cruise Vacation Protection
With the CruiseCare Cancellation Penalty Waiver, if your plans go awry and you cancel - or interrupt - your cruise vacation (for specified reasons), Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises will waive the non-refundable cancellation provision of your cruise ticket contract and pay you IN CASH the value of the unused portion of your prepaid cruise vacation.

In addition, should you or your traveling companion need to cancel for 'any other reason', you may be eligible for CRUISE CREDITS - up to 75% of the non-refundable, prepaid cruise vacation cost.

Guests must cancel their cruise prior to departure and must request a refund through the program administrator to be eligible for cash reimbursement or future cruise credits, as applicable. Enjoy a warm, full meal for breakfast and a multi-course feast for dinner in the Main Dining Room.

Options abound in the Windjammer Cafe - perfect for a quick lunch or a casual meal.

Our Specialty Restaurants - like Chops Grille or Portofino - offer amazing food in a restaurant atmosphere.

If you've got a sweet tooth, grab a scoop at Ben & Jerry's or a creamy shake at Johnny Rockets - RCCL's lively onboard diner.

Meals from many onboard venues, such as the Main Dining Room and Windjammer Cafe, are included in the price of your cruise. There is a $20.00 USD per person service charge to dine at the Portofino Restaurant and a $25.00 USD per person service charge for Chops Grille. To dine in Johnny Rockets, there is a $4.95 USD per person service charge. All prices subject to change.

Contact your travel agent or Certified Vacation Planner and request that the remark be noted in your reservation details. If you made your reservation online at royalcaribbean.com you may add your request to the "update personal information." section. You may also send an e-mail request to [email protected]; please include in the e-mail the guests' names, booking number, ship name and sail date. E-mails will receive an automated response. We kindly ask that guests do not call Royal Caribbean International suppliers with specific questions.

Special meal requests that are received less than 45 days of sailing (90 days for European/South American itineraries) are dependent on the ship's product availability. We will try to accommodate to the best of RCCL's ability.

Please note: Baby food is available via RCCL Gifts and Gear page via RCCL Babies To Go program and infant formula is not provided on board.

Guests may not bring on board any food items other than baby food and/or dry, nonperishable snack items (cookies, crackers, chips, energy bars, etc).

Fuel Surcharge Policy on Royal Caribbean Cruises

Royal Caribbean has suspended their fuel supplement for all sailings. Guests already booked on sailings that depart on or after January 1, 2009, will receive a refund of any fuel supplement paid, as follows: Guests with existing bookings for sailings that depart on or after January 1, 2009, and who are now paid in full, will have the supplement automatically refunded to them in the form of an onboard credit during their sailing. Guests with existing bookings for sailings that depart on or after January 1, 2009, and who are not yet paid in full, will have the supplement automatically removed from their outstanding balance. Royal Caribbean has reserved the right to reinstate fuel supplement charges if the price of West Texas Intermediate fuel exceeds $65 per barrel, on the quarterly milestone dates mentioned in the company's October 24, 2008, press release.

Tipping Policy on Royal Caribbean Cruises

As of January 2, 2018, Royal Caribbean will automatically add a $14.50 USD gratuity ($17.505 USD for Suite guests) to each guest’s onboard SeaPass® account on a daily basis. This gratuity is shared by Dining Services staff, stateroom Attendants other Housekeeping Services Personnel that work to enhance your cruise. The daily automatic gratuity amounts are recommended and are based on customary industry standards. As with previous gratuities, you will still have the option to prepay before sailing, rather than having the automatic gratuities applied onboard. Bookings that prepay their gratuities before sailing will not be charged daily onboard.  As with previous gratuity guidelines, the amount of the automatic gratuity is at your discretion. In the unlikely event you're completely satisfied with the service while onboard, you may visit Guest Services to modify the amount of the daily gratuity. Other onboard gratuity policies remain the same: a 15% gratuity is automatically added to beverages, mini bar items, and spa & salon services, and will be itemized on your receipt.

Note: These gratuities apply to guests of all ages. Gratuities for other service personnel are at your discretion. A 15% gratuity will automatically be added to your bar bill or wine check when you are served. Notice to Guests: Gratuities may be shared with other crew members depending on the particular service requirement. Envelopes for gratuities will be provided in your stateroom on the last night of the cruise. Gratuities may be paid in the following ways: Pre paid by having them added to your reservation by your booking agent. Added to your onboard SeaPass account. Paid in cash at the end of the cruise.

Payments / Refunds on on Royal Caribbean Cruises

You will get a full refund if you notify RCCL in writing 75 days prior to your sailing date (60 days for 1-5-night cruises or 90 days for holiday sailings). Consult the chart below to determine the cancellation charges applicable later.

Note: No refunds will be made if you do not show up for your cruise or if you interrupt or cancel your vacation once it has begun.

When calculating the days prior to sailing, the day of sailing should not be considered as one of the days. The day of sailing is considered the first day of the cruise, therefore, the penalty period will commence one day prior to the day of sailing.

This cancellation policy applies when reserving with RCCL US Office only. Guests should contact their local Royal Caribbean International Office or Travel Agent for full details of applicable cancellation policies. Effective August 1, 2010, new reservations will fall under the following cancellation schedule:

Smoking Policy on Royal Caribbean Cruises

Effective January 2008, smoking is only permitted in designated areas and outdoors on the Starboard side of the ship (contact the Guest Services for details). Smoking is not permitted in any dining venue, theater, hallway or corridor. Smoking is not permitted inside any stateroom or on Oasis class Boardwalk or Central Park private balconies, however, it is permitted on private ocean view balconies of balcony/suite staterooms. A $250 penalty will be applied to the SeaPass for guests found smoking in staterooms or on the private balconies in Boardwalk and Central Park onboard Oasis class ships. Pipe & cigar smoking is only permitted within the Cigar lounge. If no Cigar lounge exists on the ship, there will be a designated area for pipe & cigar smoking, you will find out the location once onboard. Cigarettes, cigars and pipe tobacco must be properly disposed of and never thrown overboard. A guest must be at least 18 years of age to purchase, possess or use tobacco onboard. The new policy will go into effect aboard 18 of 21 ships initially, with Legend of the Seas, Rhapsody of the Seas and Splendour of the Seas following suit with the 2008 summer season.

Revised Smoking Policy:

In consideration of ongoing guest feedback and evolving industry standards, Royal Caribbean International is revising its onboard smoking policy, effective for all sailings departing on or after January 1, 2014.

Under this new policy, all indoor public spaces will be smoke free, with the exception of the Casino and the Connoisseur Club on Freedom and Voyager class ships, and one designated smoking venue on ships sailing from Chinese homeports. In the Casino, there will be designated smoking and non-smoking areas.

Additionally, smoking will not be permitted in staterooms or on stateroom balconies. Guests in violation of the stateroom and balcony non-smoking policy may be assessed a $250 stateroom cleaning fee. Outdoor smoking areas will be designated on the starboard side of all ships; with the exception of Oasis-class ships that will allow smoking on the port side of the ships.

Indoor smoking areas permit tobacco cigarettes and electronic cigarettes. Cigars and pipe tobacco can be enjoyed in designated outdoor areas, or in the cigar club on the ships that offer this venue.

Royal Caribbean International is committed to continually enhancing the guest vacation experience. To find smoking venues and areas while onboard, your clients may consult their Cruise Compass, or visit Guest Services, where we will be happy to assist them. Thank you for your assistance in notifying your clients of this updated policy, and as always, for your ongoing support of our brand.

The cruise was overall excellent. I would tell anyone who cannot walk long distances "This is not the ship for you. It is very long..." (Affordable Tours: If you can, provide more info/warnings and reviews on excursions. I know they can be subjective, but we just went on 2 excursions we wish we had not. They were awful... Because we signed up rather late for our cruise, the best excursions were sold-out when we tried to sign-up. We took a last-minute trip on St.Thomas after leaving the ship. it was a trip to "tourist traps" and very few highlights of the island we had read about. Then, on St. Maartin, we took an "excursion" that RCL had signed us up for on the ship. It was called "double-decker bus" tour of the island and beach. Again, we were tricked... it was a 3+ hour tour of "tourist traps" and 20 minutes at their famous beach! Warning to the wise: check reviews of 'excursions' before going, and sign-up early. the best fill early.)
