Nagoya is a city in Japan. It is the third-largest incorporated city and the largest city in the Chubu region. It is also the fourth most populous urban area in Japan. It is also one of Japan's major ports. It is said that the name Nagoyaka means "peaceful". Since Nagoya was a major trading city and political seat of the Owari lords, it has a very important influence from the Tokugawa period. Also, Nagoya has it's own dialect which is only used in the province of Owari.
