Port Antonio is the capital of the parish of Portland on the northeastern coast of Jamaica. It has an estimated population of 15,000. It is the third largest port of the island, renowned for being a shipping point for bananas and coconuts, as well as being the most important tourist attraction, tourism being a major contributor to the town’s economy.
When you visit Port Antonio you must go to the beach. The beaches are beautiful. However the seclusion from the throngs of other tourists is a huge payoff. The people are friendly, and the whole city rings with a rare character all its own.
