The city of Angra dos Reis is located 93 miles east of Rio de Janeiro. Angra dos Reis is an ecological paradise, there are upwards of 2000 beaches and 365 islands around Angra dos Reis, making it a very popular summer destination for international boaters. The most important economic activities are commerce, industry, services and tourism. The port has an oil terminal as well as shipbuilding. Brazil's only nuclear power stations, Angra I and Angra II are located in close proximity. They have over 3,000 employees, and create another 10,000 indirect jobs in Rio de Janeiro State. In a small area you can find a great number of convents, churches and monuments, even at The little islands, which are very charming. One example is The Senhor do Bonfim and The Santana and Piedade Churches. The community itself has much to offer, there are many traditional Brazilian restaurants and shops available.
Since you have 365 different Islands around Angra you can go to a different island every day of the year. These islands are beautiful and so are the beaches that are on these islands. You can go surfing, water skiing, parasailing, and fishing. Opportunities are endless.
