Tarragona is a city located in the south of Catalonia, Spain, by the Mediterranean Sea. The city has an estimated population of 130,000, and the population of the entire urban area is estimated to be 350,000. In Roman times, the city was named Tarraco and was capital of the province of Hispania Tarraconensis. Tarragona is home to one of the most important ports in Spain.
Tarragona tourist attractions consist of the Museum of Archaeology and the Roman ruins of Tarraco, which has been designated a World Heritage Site.
