Overview
Fort-de-France is the capital of France's Caribbean département d'outre-mer of Martinique. It has a population of about 135,000. It is considered one of the major cities of the Caribbean. The fort was soon destroyed, and rebuilt in 1669, when Louis XIV appointed the Marquees of Baas as governor general.
Things to Do

Schoelcher Library is a library that was built by France in 1889. The structure was shipped piece by piece to the island. This is considered a monument to slavery abolitionist Victor Schoelcher.
