Overview

This African coastal city is Kenya’s’ main tourist destination.  It has a major port and an international airport. The tropical climate makes it the perfect location year round. It is the second largest and oldest city in the country, and has made improvements to be a more tourist friendly area. The coastal region features long stretches of white sand beaches lined by beautiful resort hotels.

Activities
  • Fort Jesus was built by the Portuguese and kept under their control for a century. This landmark represents the cultural interaction between African, Turkish, European, Arab, and Persian people.
  • Mamba Village is a crocodile farm where a 100 year old crocodile lives. The main attraction is the crocodile feeding shows, but there are other activities around the park.
Family Friendly
  • Pembe Za Ndovu is the Sawhili name for the tusk built in 1952 for the visit of Queen Elizabeth.
  • Admire the tropical butterflies near Fort Jesus at the Mombasa Butterfly House.
  • The Wild Waters waterpark is the best way to beat the heat and have fun with the whole family at the same time.
