Castries was founded by the French in 1650, and was named after Charles Eugène Gabriel de la Croix, Marquis de Castries. Castries has been rebuilt, having been destroyed by fire many times. The port of Castries is located on the northwestern side of the island and is the main port in Saint Lucia. This is a multi purpose port that handles cargo and passenger ships.

Things to Do

Malabar Beach is a two mile crescent shaped beach where you can relax the day away. Enjoy the warm weather and cool ocean breezes while you do your swimming or taking walks along the shore.
