Skagway, is a city located in Skagway-Hoonah-Angoon Census Area, Alaska. The population of the city is around 900 people. The port of Skagway is a popular stop for cruise ships, and the tourist trade these days is a big part of the city's business. The White Pass and Yukon Route narrow gauge mining railroad is now in operation purely for the tourists and runs throughout summer.
Skagway has great
shopping for everyone. Stroll on the Broadway
which will take you directly to the best
shopping in Alaska. There are also plenty of
bars, cafes, and restaurants there if you get
hungry.
You've seen them on TV, but why not experience
it for yourself? That's right, dog sledding! The
best way to enjoy Alaska is to take one of these
excursions. Enjoy the team of powerful huskies
as they pull you trails. If there is no snow,
they have wheeled dog sleds. Now you can enjoy
it during the winter and in the summer. Have
plenty of film on hand because there are a lot
of photo opportunities here.
