Overview

Gijon is a coastal industrial city and its municipality in the autonomous community of Asturias in Spain. It was an important regional Roman city, although the area has been settled since earliest history. The main port, one of the largest in the north of Spain, is called "El Musel". Gijon has a estimated population of roughly 200,000 residents. The present times, the city has built golf courses and musical spectacles, a campus at Cabuenes and a science park, that is a tribute to a past time with more lights than shadows. A city that tries to remember the last 2500 years, while remaining, new.

Things to Do

If sporting activities are your thing then Gijon will not let you down. This port city offers angling and underwater fishing trips and has three golf courses for your enjoyment.

If fishing and golf is not for you then you should try visiting the Aquaium or just take a relaxing day at the Gijon Spa.
