Propriano started out as a commercial port for the transport of coal, olive oil and wood. They bay is very large and stretches between Belvedere - Campornoro, Olmeto Plage and Porto Pollo. The location is ideal for those that do not want to stay at one location but may want to tour around Southern Corsica. The village has become a small town with about 3,000 inhabitants. Now mixed cargo ships transport passengers and merchandise. In peak seasons passenger ferries enable visitors to come from local areas to Propriano or from Propriano to Porto Torres.

every Thursday and is for the average walker the route is 3.5km. The
Bavella forest is open every Monday for average walkers and the route is also

open everyday of the year. Either soak in the swimming pool or baths for
curative reasons, or to simply relax, the benefits of sulfurous bathing has been
known since Antiquity. The waters are around 52'C at their source to
about 40'C in the swimming pool.
