Norwegian has been working closely with the CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) and are adding stringent protocols, strategic application and supporting innovation to meet and exceed their standards once those have been finalized by them. The below are the safety measures Norwegian will immediately be implementing fleetwide, with more in development.
ALL-NEW AIR FILTRATION
Installation of medical-grade air-filters, H13 HEPA, that remove 99.95% of airborne pathogens across Norwegian's entire fleet to ensure the air you breathe is clean.
ENHANCED SCREENING PROTOCOLS
All guests will undergo an enhanced pre-embarkation health screening, and those considered at risk will undergo additional screening. Additionally, all crew will undergo extensive screening prior to embarkation and constant monitoring throughout the voyage. Touchless temperature checks and continuous monitoring of guests and crew throughout the voyage will help identify potential health issues, offering an additional layer of prevention and protection.
INCREASED SANITATION MEASURES
All ships are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to every voyage in accordance with company protocols, which are developed in partnership with CDC's Vessel Sanitation Program. Embarkation terminals will be sanitized continuously, and, where possible, fogged before and after each embarkation and debarkation. Further, all staterooms, suites and public areas will be cleaned, sanitized and disinfected at an increased frequency, and including the use of Electrostatic Spray Technology.
RESPONSIBLE SOCIAL DISTANCING
To provide even more space for responsible social distancing, guest capacity on board will be reduced. Staggered embarkation and online check-in will be implemented for proper social distancing. In addition, Norwegian is committed to reducing capacity in all public areas throughout the voyage.
ENHANCED MEDICAL RESOURCES
Onboard medical centers will be fully equipped with the latest testing kits and medical supplies. Norwegian is also increasing the medical team fleetwide. Additionally, each ship has dedicated isolation accommodations should the need arise.
EXTENDED SHIP TO SHORE SAFETY
- Norwegian is partnering with local destinations and tour operators to ensure their industry-leading health and sanitation protocols extend to the shoreside experience.
- Norwegian will only visit safe, open ports of call which may cause changes to your itinerary. Keeping the guests up-to-date with the latest confirmed changes impacting their itineraries is a top priority.

Our tour guide was energetic, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful throughout the trip.
Everything on this trip was fantastic! The food, even in the main dining rooms, was exceptional. I am usually a solo traveler. I travel extensively on group tours and sometimes feel like the odd man out. I booked a solo cabin on the Norwegian Epic. We met each day for happy hour with our very own bartender. We discussed the day's tour and made plans for the next day. Then those who wanted to participate went to dinner in one of the main dining rooms and afterwards partying in one of the bars. I loved it because I wasn't a fifth-wheel and if I wanted some time to myself I could have it without guilt. My ONLY problem with the experience was boarding the ship in Port Canaveral. There was a problem disembarking the previous cruise so all the morning passengers were given THE SAME BOARDING TIME. At 12:10 I took a shuttle 2 miles to the port. I didn't get in my stateroom until 3:15!! Hundreds of people trying to get on the ship at the same time obviously overloaded their boarding process.
Our experience with Affordable Tours was superb. The ship, the itinerary, and the Haven level was exactly what I told our family i wanted for a vacation experience, and everything exceeded our expectations.
I completed a review to NCL and made similar remarks. The balcony was dirty the day we arrived and only continued getting worse making it difficult to enjoy its use. The morning breakfast room service was severely reduced to the point I only used it the first day. Meals in the main dining room was not up to previous cruises on NCL. Entertainment was missing some evenings and not up to par. NCL and Epic did not deliver a good experience. Will look at going on Holland America next time. We were on NCL Gettaway in February and it was still good then
Loved the Epic. Even though it was at capacity, everything ran very smoothly. So many options of things to do - it was great.
We were happy with the NCL Epic altho' we think it was just too big. We will choose a smaller ship next time. We did like our stateroom and it's location. The service, the food and the heated pool n the adult H2o were wonderful. The ship was very well laid out, very clean. The entertainment was a bit disappointing altho\' we realize it was probably geared more for an European audience. The ship was very well run; easy to maneuver off and on. Itinerary was good also. It's so easy cruising out of Barcelona.
The cruise was absolutely fabulous - it exceeded our expectations. Totally delighted with both service and cruise. My turn to say THANK YOU
This is my second cruise I had booked with my agent, I was please with everything. I would use again. I travel on the Norwegian Epic and had used there studio room, the room was spacious and it worked out great. I wish other cruise lines would have more affordable trips for single travelers.
