Stornoway is located in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland with a population of 8,100. The city is a key town and administrative meeting point. The port offers unsurpassed facilities in northwest Scotland. This is the main seaport and provides an important link to Britain. This is one of the ports west of Scotland that handles over 200,000 passengers per year.
Lews Castle was built by the Mathesons in the 19th century and is located on
the west side of Stornoway Harbor. Although the castle is only used for
educational purposes, visitors are not allowed inside. However, there are
rangers outside the castle which provide guided tours for visitors who want to
see the castle.
Stornoway Town Hall is another amazing structure that cannot be passed up. Built
in 1900 for Lord Leverhulme as a private residence, it is now an all purpose
location for various community activities. Amazing architecture and clock tower
makes this a great place to take some photos.
