Overview

Marbella is a city in Spain, by the Mediterranean, situated in the region of Malaga. Marbella has about 117,000. The town ultimately started to take its current shape after the Spanish Civil War. But, it was not until the mid 1940's that tourists started to turn up here in large numbers, after entrepreneurs like Prince Alfonso de Hohenlohe began the construction of hotels and apartment complexes. After that the rich and famous flocked to the resort and praised Marbella all over the world. So, in just 50 years this tiny fishing and farming village has been changed into an international tourist hot-spot, thanks primarily to its splendid climate and golf courses.
