Overview

Canaveral is a key cruise and cargo port located just 45 miles east of Orlando, Florida. Port Canaveral is one of the fastest growing cruise ports located in Florida and is a homeport to many of the industry's top cruise lines, with itineraries to the Bahamas, Eastern, Western and Southern Caribbean. Visitors can enjoy some of the best waterfront, seafood restaurants on the coast and dance the evening away to live music at one of the lively local bars. If you’re lucky, you can catch a rocket launch while on the beach.

Iconic Neighborhoods

  • Port Canaveral- The area directly surrounding the cruise port, there are plenty of waterfront restaurants to try. Keep an eye out for the 7 story Exploration Tower that has amazing views of the water and city from the observation deck.
  • Cape Canaveral- The city closest to Port Canaveral is home to the Kennedy Space Center, so there are lots of NASA related activities for the whole family.

Activities
  • The Exploration Tower and Cove is the restaurant and retail area nearby the cruise terminal. Grab a bite to eat right on the harbor or visit any of the shops, it’s a great location to watch the cruise ships glide by.
  • For the adventurous types, try parasailing along Cocoa Beach for the best bird’s eye view of the coast and Kennedy Space Center.
Family Friendly
  • Spend the day at Kennedy Space Center. From here, NASA has launched brave astronauts and advanced spacecraft on courageous missions to Earth's orbit, the moon and the universe. Make sure you check for upcoming rocket launches. Port Canaveral has a Rocket Launch Viewing area that is the perfect place for the whole family to watch.
  • Enjoy Port Canaveral’s 5-acre ocean-front beach, Jetty Park, which features a campground, fishing pier, boat ramps, picnic areas and new refreshment and food concession pavilion

Directions from Orlando International Airport

  • Take the North Exit from the Airport to S.R. 528 (Beeline Expressway) East.

Directions fromMelbourne International Airport

  • Take a left (east) out of the airport onto NASA Blvd. and follow to where NASA ends at Route 1.
  • Turn left (north) onto Route 1. Travel for approximately 20 minutes on Route 1.
  • Go east onto SR 528. Stay on Bee Line for approx. 10 miles to Port Canaveral.
