Overview

10 miles northwest of the Mexico border, the Port of San Diego is a 14-mile long natural harbor located in Downtown San Diego. The Port of San Diego’s two cruise ship terminals are located on San Diego Bay’s Embarcadero, a long stretch of waterfront casual and gourmet dining, unique art museums and numerous attractions. Most cruises dock at the larger B-Street Pier. The second terminal is the Port Pavilion on Broadway Pier.

Iconic Neighborhoods

  • Downtown - Located steps away from the cruise piers, downtown San Diego is in the center of town. There are numerous activities including theaters, restaurants, parks, and museums.
  • Gaslamp Quarter - The lively section of downtown that is known for its nightlife, clubs, cocktail bars and live music. Check out the open air mall, Horton Plaza Park for some sweet treats, independent restaurants and an interactive fountain.

  • The Maritime Museum Of San Diego offers one of the best collection of historic ships, including the Star of India, the world’s oldest active ship.
  • A short walk from the pier is the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego. Set in the historical Jacobs Building, the museum has diverse exhibitions for all audiences.

  • The New Children’s Museum is the perfect place for creative and active kids. Play on climbable sculptures and take art classes in the modern and bright museum. Next door there is a children’s park with ducks, fountains and play ground in the shade.
