Overview

Tokyo, with a population of about 12 million, is one of the 47 prefectures of Japan. Although not a single city, it is considered the capital of Japan since it is home to the Japanese government and emperor. Tokyo is located in the Kanto region on the island of Honshu.

Things to Do

Shopping is one of the activities tourists do when they are in town. The whole city is a shopping center. A lot of electronic stores for those of you who want to pick up some gadgets. Vendors are all over the street selling wallets, purses, and novelty items. On top of the shopping, the night life is just spectacular because of the city lights. Very lively and energetic, Tokyo night life is one of the best.

The Tokyo tower was built in 1958 and is over 1000 feet tall. There are two observation decks which you can get super panoramic views of the city and Mount Fiji. The observation decks are 490 feet high and the other 820 feet high. Inside the tower is also the Tokyo Tower Wax Museum, the Walking Zone, and Trick Art Gallery.
