Hygiene and Safety Protocols

Norwegian has been working closely with the CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) and are adding stringent protocols, strategic application and supporting innovation to meet and exceed their standards once those have been finalized by them. The below are the safety measures Norwegian will immediately be implementing fleetwide, with more in development.

ALL-NEW AIR FILTRATION

Installation of medical-grade air-filters, H13 HEPA, that remove 99.95% of airborne pathogens across Norwegian's entire fleet to ensure the air you breathe is clean.

ENHANCED SCREENING PROTOCOLS

All guests will undergo an enhanced pre-embarkation health screening, and those considered at risk will undergo additional screening. Additionally, all crew will undergo extensive screening prior to embarkation and constant monitoring throughout the voyage. Touchless temperature checks and continuous monitoring of guests and crew throughout the voyage will help identify potential health issues, offering an additional layer of prevention and protection.

INCREASED SANITATION MEASURES

All ships are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to every voyage in accordance with company protocols, which are developed in partnership with CDC's Vessel Sanitation Program. Embarkation terminals will be sanitized continuously, and, where possible, fogged before and after each embarkation and debarkation. Further, all staterooms, suites and public areas will be cleaned, sanitized and disinfected at an increased frequency, and including the use of Electrostatic Spray Technology.

RESPONSIBLE SOCIAL DISTANCING

To provide even more space for responsible social distancing, guest capacity on board will be reduced. Staggered embarkation and online check-in will be implemented for proper social distancing. In addition, Norwegian is committed to reducing capacity in all public areas throughout the voyage.

ENHANCED MEDICAL RESOURCES

Onboard medical centers will be fully equipped with the latest testing kits and medical supplies. Norwegian is also increasing the medical team fleetwide. Additionally, each ship has dedicated isolation accommodations should the need arise.

EXTENDED SHIP TO SHORE SAFETY

  • Norwegian is partnering with local destinations and tour operators to ensure their industry-leading health and sanitation protocols extend to the shoreside experience.

Questions & Answers

Question: Where can I find my hotel accommodations for 11/15/19 in Honolulu? I've looked through all of the tabs and the only thing I see is a mention of the hotel, but no details are found.

There is no hotel accommodations included in this sailing. You are sailing in/out of Honolulu so you have 2 options: a) come in early and arrange your own hotel accommodations or b) find flights that arrive the day of your sailing and arrive to the ship at least 2 hours before scheduled departure time.

Question: Is the cruise all inclusive? What is included?

Tickets include the cruise fare, port charges, government tax. It also includes all meals, most beverages (milk, juice, tea, water, and coffee), entertainment, and access to all parts of the ship. Please note additional costs onboard the cruise may include: Gratuity, alcohol, sodas, shore excursions, specialty restaurants, the casino, the spa, and additional purchases. The cruise line reserves the right to add fuel charges until the time of sailing.

Question: When should I arrive at the port?

We suggest that you arrive at least 2 hours before the scheduled departure time.

Question: How can I communicate with my family and friends at home when I am on the cruise?

Telephone service can be quite expensive and the service may be spotty. However, Wi-Fi services are also becoming the standard though access may come with a fee. You can view rates once you register for the cruise. Some stateroom categories and loyalty program benefit levels will offer a generous amount of "Wi-Fi Time", access to the ship's internet cafe or both.

NCL was able to accomodate my special dietary needs with no problems. They also had some appropriate and fantastic shows and activities. I had one problem on the trip: I booked my shore excursions on the NCL webpage in advance, my excursion times changed when I got on board, I didn't know to look on my physical ticket to see that the time had changed, so I missed my first (and most desired) excursion. No one told me the excursion time could change after I printed my itinerary confirmation--and I talked with 2 members of the shore excursion desk the night before my first excursion! CHECK YOUR PHYSICAL TICKET FOR UPDATED EXCURSION TIME AND MEETING PLACE!!!

The itinerary was great. It was an easy way to see four of the Hawaiian Islands.

Norwegian has a captive audience in that they are the only cruise line that cruises the Hawaiian Island round trip from Honolulu. Norwegian takes full advantage of this based on the fares that they charge.

We really enjoy working with Dawn. This was the third cruise we've booked through her, and it certainly won't be our last. She's our travel agent; can't ask for anything more.

NCL did an excellent job providing a great cruise for us! Great land tours, top flight shows, very clean ship, good food and a caring staff.

The staff on this cruise ship were very courteous. When things didn't go too well, they would provide us with free gifts. There were times when the staff would put things in our room when we were not expecting anything. They had a wide range of food on offer.

Wonderful time with no glitches.

Wish there was more time at parks and sights. Usually felt rushed. Saw numerous sights and felt guides were trying to give us best value for our money. Guide for canyon visit and grotto fern river cruise, I felt could have allows tour more time at canyon and less time at souvenir place. It just wasn't right to spend less time at canyon than spent at souvenir place. Over all enjoyed visit but will probably not return to Hawaii. Place did not live up to expectations. I think heat and the lack of abundant water for waterfalls was not the fault of the tour but still felt disappointed. If I visit again will go to Big Island and Garden Island on my own. Have a more personal experience.

We loved the cruise our 2nd time around,only thing we were disappointed with,was the transport on Maui,we just wanted transport into Lahaina from the dock,and had to wait over an hour for a Taxi,and would have been the same wait or more for the shuttle bus which we at first started to queue for in a really long line,and the buses were quite small. 

I am a repeat customer with NCL. I don't see any reason to look elsewhere unless NCL doesn't provide a tour we are looking for. They are top notch professionals who still treat the customer with respect and listen to the customer's needs and try their best to meet these needs--some of them special. Thank you for the memorable time we had on this recent trip as well.

This, I believe, was the third cruise we had booked through Affordabletours. As before, we were extremely pleased with our whole experience!

I still believe that the cabin(8190) was not a true upgrade from NCL. The cabin was very tight and what they said was a family balcony, was no different from any other balcony for 2 people with 2 chairs. However, we had a wonderful time and saw the differences between the Hawian Islands and the life styles of the people. Affordable Tours, as usual, did their best to help us in all of our planning. Additionally, our ship board credits were taken care of.as agreed. We will be in touch with you when planning another trip. Thanks again
